The Leadership in Enhancing Antimicrobial Discovery (LEAD) coalition works to develop leadership and build collaboration to advance science and shape policy for action against antimicrobial resistance (AMR).

The challenge

The global crisis in human resources and leadership for antimicrobial discovery and development, follows years of under-investment and a fragmented and changing global science and technology landscape.

The goal

In response, the LEAD coalition works to build a more coherent and collaborative global antimicrobial discovery and development ecosystem through cooperation, capacity and leadership development.

The coalition

LEAD’s growing international coalition unites experts in AMR science, policy and advocacy from academia, industry, and the public and third sectors.

LEAD’s core team is comprised of centres of excellence in science, policy analysis and engagement, and advocacy:

  • Sir Howard Dalton Centre for Translational Mechanistic Enzymology, University of Warwick, UK
  • Institute of Development Studies, UK
  • Public Health Foundation of India
  • Alliance for Reducing Microbial Resistance (ARMoR)
