Estimating the National Impact of the Financial Crisis in Indonesia by Combining a Rapid Qualitative Study with Nationally Representative Surveys

What information do policymakers use to inform their response to a shock? As a new IDS research report on Indonesia shows, combining rapid, small-scale qualitative studies with nationally representative quantitative data draws on the strengths of both methods to provide the fullest possible picture of which groups of people are most affected, and how.
