The Digital and Technology Cluster welcomed Nanjala Nyabola to speak about work and new book.

About the speaker

Nanjala Nyabola is a writer, humanitarian advocate and political analyst, based in Nairobi, Kenya. Her new book, ‘Digital Democracy, Analogue Politics’ offers unique insight into the impact of technology on politics in Kenya and beyond.

Seminar

From the upheavals of recent national elections to the success of the #MyDressMyChoice movement, digital platforms have already had a dramatic impact on political life in Kenya. While the impact of the Digital Age on Western politics has been extensively debated, there is still little appreciation of how it has been felt in developing countries such as Kenya, where e-government initiatives and social media are increasingly a part of everyday life
