Maysa is a DPhil researcher with the Participation, Power and Social Change team. She is also a freelance researcher and consultant.
Maysa (also known as Maisa Shquier) is a Palestinian researcher with ten years of development experience working with local and international NGOs in Palestine and the Middle East. She has technical skills in monitoring and evaluating projects in the sectors of gender, disability, health, food security, water and sanitation and civil society. She has proven skills in qualitative research methods, including designing questionnaires, conducting interviews, analysing data and writing donor reports and proposals.
Maysa is a policy member withthe Palestinian Policy Network (Al Shabaka)
PhD topic
Maysa started her DPhil in Oct 2012. She is working on a research project on gender, nation, body politics and sexuality, using Palestine as a case study. Specifically, the research examines the gendered and sexualized representations of Palestine, through a discourse analysis of the 'NewHistorians' and the visual images of Palestine.
