Postgraduate Researcher

Rosalind’s doctoral research looks at wellbeing of children and families among Syrian-Armenian refugee communities in Armenia, in the context of family support services.

The working title of her thesis, supervised by Keetie Roelen and Dorte Thorsen, is: Exploring the wellbeing of Syrian Armenian refugee children and their families in the context of family support services in Armenia.

Rosalind is interested in finding out how children and their families understand and shape their wellbeing and how this knowledge can be capitalised on in social services. Further research interests include child protection, social protection, and child poverty more broadly as well as impact evaluation methodologies.

Rosalind has more than ten years of experience as a research and development practitioner in local and international NGOs, in contexts such as Austria, Bulgaria, Georgia, Lebanon, and South Africa. She currently works as Research and Learning Advisor at SOS Children’s Villages International. She is combining this role with her PhD studies.

She holds two Masters degrees, one in Social and Cultural Anthropology, and one in Spanish and French language studies, and has been studying the Arabic language for many years.
