The Need to be Governed: Governance and Violence in Conflict Contexts

This article analyses the relationship between governance and violence in light of the World Development Report 2017 on Governance and the Law.

The article discusses the approach taken by the Report to link governance and violence and highlights the importance of new research and findings on forms of wartime governance, and their implications for international politics and development interventions in conflict and post-conflict contexts.
