Juan Machado-Puertas

Juan Carlos is a political scientist currently working on the role of the party system in political instability in Bolivia, Ecuador and Peru. His MA dissertation at the University of Geneva focused on a comparative analysis of the management of multiculturalism in Switzerland and Ecuador. Juan Carlos also has a Juris Doctor Degree in Law from the Pontifical Catholic University of Ecuador and a Degree in Public Administration from the Catholic University of Louvain La-Neuve. His Jurist Doctor thesis explored the Right of Self-Determination of Indigenous Peoples from an International Law Perspective.

Juan Carlos is CEO and founding member of INTERLEY trough which he has provided legal and administrative expertise to public sector institutions and the Government of Ecuador.

Languages: Spanish (native), English and French (fluent).
