Project

Achieving gender justice and inclusive security in conflict-affected societies

The project of work forms part of a hub of UK research organisations delivering innovative interdisciplinary research on the challenge of achieving gender justice and inclusive security in conflict-affected societies. Funded by the Global Challenges Research Fund (GCRF) it seeks to address the overlap of three major policy fields: Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 5 on gender equality; SDG 16 on peace, inclusivity and justice; and the implementation of the Women, Peace and Security (WPS) agenda. Rajith Lakshman leads the IDS-component on Migration and Displacement in one of the study countries, Sri Lanka. This will involve developing methods in aid of and contributing to the writing of a Systematic Review report on Forced Migration and Return and Reintegration. Further work will involve designing, deploying and analysing a survey of affected parties in the Sri Lanka study area.
