Social Protection for Poverty Reduction: The OECD/DAC/POVNET View

It is characteristic of our Nordic approach to development cooperation to focus attention on the social dimension of development, and to favour policies that aim to achieve the following: poverty reduction, pro-poor growth, people-centred development, social protection and decent work.

In this article, I try to unpack these different concepts, and describe an evolving framework that incorporates these concepts for purposes of policymaking.
