Ghana – Economics of Adaptation to Climate Change Adaptation

Published on 1 January 2010

The main objectives of this study are to present estimates of the impacts of climate change for key selected sectors for Ghana and to discuss the implications for climate change adaptation options  and adaptation costs. This type of information can assist policy makers in a number of areas. First it would assist them to make appropriate budgetary allocations for climate change adaptation and to inform the debate on the level of assistance required for the development effort. Secondly, given that scarce resources must be allocated amongst competing needs, the information would enable them to make tough choices on the design and sectoral balance of the national development strategy in light of the challenges posed by climate change.
