Implementation Research in Food Policy

Our Implementation research work maps the process of design and delivery of project interventions using methods such as social network analysis, behavioural change assessments and political risk analysis. It works with a theory of change to identify and analyse areas for strengthening of intervention delivery and facilitating course-correction for interventions.

Currently, in collaboration with Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN), we are conducting implementation research for the development of a digital solution that aims to improve transparency in collection of data from firms and regulators in the edible oil industry in the context of large-scale food fortification. In our research, we are using a Consolidated Framework for Implementation Research (CFIR) approach tailored specifically to food policy interventions, incorporating agile methodologies and co-creation processes for generating evidence. We have developed specific impact pathways that are being operationalised using a mix of quantitative and qualitative metrics based on text analytics and data collection integrated to project processes for tracking and informing course correction in 3 countries – Bangladesh, Nigeria, and India.
